Description

Our client is looking for a Factory Manager to oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process, as well as to develop new sales channels which target the company’s markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for the company's production process, inventory management and maintenance of all machinery and tools, development and implementation of manufacturing and productivity improvement plans, and responsibility for the company's quality standards.

Qualification:

  • A Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Production Management.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven track record of successful experience inexperience in Production Management within a furniture manufacturing or woodworking environment;
  • Extensive experience in the fabrication methods and techniques of all forms of wood products to include CNC & other forms of modern machining methods of wood materials;
  • Understanding of ISO and other systems;
  • Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain processes.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to monitor and control project budgets
  • Proficiency in manufacturing management software like Xperdyte and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software like Fusion 360
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee factory operations, including planning, organising, controlling, and directing factory production activities;
  • Organise, manage, and maintain all aspects of production, including product design, production planning, and production control systems;
  • Budget, forecast, control, and optimise all production operational costs;
  • Monitor and control the flow of supplies that includes the purchase, storage, and movement of the required quality of raw materials, and work-in-progress inventory.
  • Manage supply chain activities and synchronise supply with demand of production and sales divisions demands;
  • Ensure efficient management, coordination, and record-keeping of all production activities to meet quality and quantity standards;
  • Plan, monitor and report on the budget;
  • Monitor and assure the quality of the provided goods by overseeing that all the factors of the production meet quality requirements;
  • Supervise product inspection and testing;
  • Ensure equipment and tools availability;
  • Set up procedures for maintaining and improving health and safety in the workplace;
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations;
  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with industry standards;
  • Ensure the safety of all staff and visitors to the facility and provide necessary PPE;
  • Conduct routine audits and risk assessments of equipment and facilities and resolve issues;
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: R420 000,00 - R480 000,00 per year
